"HairStemTM is an exciting new hair regenerating foam with a background of success in Korea. Made from a blend of AmStem's special HCSM blend and conventional oriental naturopathic prescriptions from 17 herbs, HairStemTM has been used for the treatment of male pattern baldness, several forms of alopecia, and dandruff. AmStem plans to validate these claims in the U.S. with clinical trials and consumer studies, while test marketing the product in the summer of 2010.

HCSM, or Human Conditioned Stem Cell Media, is AmStem's special version of an accepted cosmetic ingredient that is derived from proteins secreted by stem cells obtained from umbilical cord blood. The cord blood is collected from consenting donors and is a non-controversial source of stem cells. HCSM works by providing the skin with dynamic proteins and nutritional supplements to make it healthy, balanced and revitalized in its ability to renew itself. How HairStemTM Works

By diluting neurotransmitters, immuno-modulators, cytokines, and hormones discharged when stress is incurred, HairStemTM has been used successfully in Korea without any reported side-effects, and is shown to assit in maintaining a healthy, natural condition of the hair and scalp. It reaches the hair follicle and sebaceous gland through skin or blood, where other "stem cell" products cannot reach.

The HairStemTM foam contains Stem Cell protein solution (HCSM), as well as natural herbal ingredients such as Cnidium officinale, Angelica gigas, and Paeonia root extracts using non-chemical preservation."

Also Histo-Endostem...

"AmStem plans to make this treatment available closer to the U.S, in a resort location to be identified in a forthcoming Press Release. The treatments will be available with or without participation in a scientific study to determine the effects of the stem cell injections. Both the treatments and the clinical trial will be performed according to the highest ICH and other international standards."

I'm assuming this is their headquarters: http://www.histostem.co.kr/

Ummm... why posting promo material jacob?  If you have some real evidence about something I think that's great to post, but what's the difference between posing this press release and some other company coming on here and posting a press release?  it's just PR -- if they had some scientific data in there that their product worked that would be one thing...

Ummmmm...having a bad day, John? I, and believe or not- others, have always posted when new things are discovered. Even "press releases". The difference is that I'm not the company and/or don't work for the company.

Nope - or at least I wasn't at the time I posted that just don't see what the point is of simply reprinting PR materials.  How does it help anyone just to hear the company brag up their own product?

It's one thing to say 'Hey i just heard of this new product Hairstem which sounds interesting because it has x ingredients' - it's another thing to just word for word reprint the company's advertising.  The product could be a complete piece of junk that does nothing and you're spreading ads for them.

The same could be said of Regenpure..or anything else.

We're just posting about new things. What's the point of reading about something that you think others may be interested in seeing..and not being able to post about it? It's part of what these forums are for. If I'd just post "Hey i just heard of this new product Hairstem which sounds interesting because it has x ingredients"..you'd have someone else Googl'n it and posting whatever information he could find on it, anyway.

It's not like I'm saying- hey, follow me..take this...use that

Again, we've been doing this for years.

Thanks Johnny b. I had emailed them too...hopefully they'll respond sometime next week. They say " while test marketing the product in the summer of 2010"...so I wonder if they have done or are doing that.

Regenepure isn't posting press releases in the forums.  They also aren't making any claims to grow hair either.  Really though it's not about what company it is.  I don't see any point to posting press releases and ads in the forums - why not just post ads for avacor here too or any other number of products?  I don't see reposting an ad as contributing anything really.  All you're doing is spreading the company's PR for them -- I'm not really sure what difference it is if you post the ad verses the company - you're still just posting an ad.  It's one thing to have a substantive conversation about a product where people are interacting.  Posting a press release verbatim isn't interacting - it's promoting.  Why not post youtube videos of company's commercials too?  it's the same thing.  You didn't even post any commentary or analysis of the press release - just the press release itself.  I don't see the point.

Also it goes to the content of the press release - if the press release had some actual informational content such as - we've tested the product and it shows hair growth in x percent of men or someting like that, I can see the value of reprinting the press release even though it is PR.  This release contains nothing other than product info and PR for the product.  it doesn't tell me anything other than it's a product they want me to buy based on them saying it works.  When they come out with the press release with whatever studies they are planning on conducting, that is something that i'd be more interested in seeing - i hope those studies will be actual independent double blind trials and not just a study the company does for PR purposes where we only get positive results.

I didn't post an ad. I posted about a new product that, from what I can tell, hasn't been posted about yet. So I posted whatever information on it I could find, including a "press release"- which also contained additional information. Again, if I would have just started a new thread saying there's this new product out..here's what it's about, etc...you'd have others researching and posting what I already did.

We HAVE been doing this for YEARS.

And on Regenpure's press release: http://www.regrowth.com/shampoos/regenepure-december2009-pressrelease.cfm

"Saw palmetto extract has been used for its medicinal properties for centuries, and is currently approved for the treatment of male pattern alocpecia in Europe. RegenePure® DR also contains caffeine, niacin and linolenic acid to stimulate the scalp and follicles,"

"RegenePure® NT has been formulated with a form of lecithin (derived from egg yolks), which studies have shown to be a powerful hair growth agent."

Only if you're splitting hairs(ha) can you say they're not saying it grows hair.
