Been taking P for about 4 years. I managed to maintain my hair, but too many side-effects. I stopped about 2 months ago. Mr. Johnson (wink wink) is back to his normal self. I ordered 150 laser diodes. Going to start zapping my head as soon as I make the helmet. I'm thinking of using a metal mesh food strainer to hold the diodes. I'll look like a mad scientist! LOL

150 diodes may not be enough. Just sayin. Unless you are just covering a small area on your scalp that you wish to work on. You likely need about 300 diodes if you want to do a good job of coverage.

P didn't do anything for me. It took me a while to give up on it though! If I add M, you think that will prevent me from getting any shedding?

I forgot to mention. I'm a NII with slight vertex thinning. Also, I never experienced any shedding while I was on P. I was using it for maintenance; to slow down the loss that began when I turned 30. I'm 41 now. One last thing: "Stopping Propecia is a mistake. You will find that out in 3months or so when you start shedding.LLLT won't stop that shed and won't regrow Propecia dependent hair IMHO."
I don't see how you can make this comment without knowing the extent of my hair loss.

LAZERFISH said: Your hairloss will quickly progress to where it would have been if you had never used Propecia in the first place, was my point.

I had thicker hair before I started P. I really don't know what benefit I got from P. But, at least I stuck to it to see if I would get any benefit from it. I'm going to use R-foam on my vertex and high-powered lasers! And, to tell you the truth, even the after photos I see on here scare me. I'm 41, N2, with diffused thinning. I just want thicker hair!

I disagree on the 'anything you get from propecia you'll lose if you stop'. I kept most of the hair I gained on it even after stopping... maybe I'm just lucky it took quite a while (years) after being off propecia before my hair was once again worse than before starting it. there is some scientific basis for this as well I was at a conference one time where they showed use of propecia changes the subtype of the androgen receptor in MPB affected hairs to a type that is less affected by DHT.Sometimes a signature is just a signature.

R-foam sucks and I wish I had never used it. I swear it killed my hair follicles. I am just glad I only used it on my vertex and not all over. LAZERFISH - How can you say "Stopping Propecia is a mistake" when Gatchaman stated that he had "too many side effects" and that only after two months "Mr. Johnson is back to his normal self"? That makes no sense at all. If it was about keeping hair at any cost then why don't we all castrate our selves?

why not try to take 0.2 mg instead of 1 mg as suggested by this study: http://www.john-libbey-eurotext.fr/en/revues/medecine/ejd/e-docs/00/04/04/87/article.phtml?fichier=images.htm
might be a good compromise
