Any minoxidil alternatives ??

I've been using minoxidil 5% (generic) for many years now and I think it is at least slowing down my hair loss but it makes my scalp very itchy and it's making my dandruff problem a lot worse. I'm wondering if there are any alternatives or forms of minox that are available and that won't cause those problems. Thanks

if its only slowing down hairloss, (u think) and not regrowing it, u might as well dump it, and try something else.

i use yuda pilatory, still waitin for results, after a yr ill give up, but its too early to tell yet, and it is at least giving me tiny white hairs that appear to be getting darker, but i could be imagining it, or they could just be miniturizing hairs on the way out, so dont quote me on that.

anyway my point is, try another topical, theres the primordial trial topical u could try for free in a trial, or an elsom or similar. theres heaps at the moment we r all trying.

just read all the last 20 or so posts and youll find many topicals to try, but u cant beat something new and free.

For wat its worth, there r studies saying nizoral has just as good regrowing ability as minoxidil. oh and same as applepoly.

Dhtloather: great question. Thanks for bringing up this topic. Cuebreeze: how does one use mag oil? Do you apply it to the balding areas? Or just on your legs/arms? Has it helped? Also, does mag oil help if one does not use lasers?

Applepoly: where can I find a good applepoly topical??

I used A&G and I am awaiting results. Whatever happened to stuff like dermaheal etc? Any updates??? Thanks

Look into adenogen. The mechanism in which the ingredient adenosine grows hair is similar to minox and superior in the fact that it's not as poisonous and is scalp friendly . It works-I've tried it.

Anxious1, I'm saying minox is at least slowing down my hair loss but I think I need to say it is doing a good job doing that. I have two brothers and one is already bald and the younger one is balding badly. Neither is using anything while I've been using both minox (kirkland brand) and proscar even though I feel it's minox that's doing the job because every time I stop using it I experience shedding. And while I dont have the hair I used to have in my 20's -very thick hair- it is still not easy to see noticeable loss except on the very top and the hairline but still I don't have bare scalp or anything. So, I have no doubt minox is doing a very good job slowing down the loss but not stopping it 100% though because I do see dying hairs on the comb. However, like I said minoxidil is messy and greasy and the itch and dandruff it causes get unbearable at times but I wouldn't give it up and allow this curse called baldness to ruin my life even more. I've heard about 15% minox solution sold online and without the itchiness of regular minoxidil and it's called Xandrox 15 by Dr. Lee or something but I dont know if that product actually works or if it's just another snake oil. So, I'm wondering if any body here has any experience or info on that. Cuebreeze, the guy above asked what Mag oil is and where to get it and I'm going to ask the same question. It'd be nice if people elaborated and gave a good source of whatever products they're using.
