1) 1 year

2) small shed then heaps of growth and thickening up (worked very well for me at that time).

3) sore testicles for 2 months and then sore testicles when getting off fin for 2 months. Brain fog, testosterone drop, increase cancer risk.

4) 1 year

5) when back to normal state

When on Fin and if the chance you get cancer you mostly likely to die from it, there are studies this stuff is dangerous but with the money driven market the studies are not the easiest to find.

Anything hormonal stay away, this part of the body is very sensitive. Topical is the way to go NOT internal.

Also I feel sorry for all the females that are on birth control pills with hair loss due to the sides but the doctors forget to mention this to users SAD SAD and most of the girls never notice until its to late.

1) 11 years and 2 months

2) I don't recall an initial shed over what I was already losing daily, but when it "kicked in" I could grab my hair and rub it vigorously without seeing more than 1 or 2 normal thickness hairs fall into the sink. It was truly working to keep my hair in place for all those years, and it was very hard for me to let it go.

3) Began somewhere into my 10th year on the drug. I'd had the "watery semen" for as long as I can remeber while taking the drug, but I thought that was the only side I would get and I didn't worry much about it.

First I noticed daily cramping, dull pain in and behind my testicles. Then increasing difficulty and frequency in urunation. Then waking up every 2 hours to try to urinate. Then penile shaft numbness and less pleasurable sex. Then full-on ED with difficulty getting and maintaining an erection and loss of libido.

These sides were compounded with each other. They happened in that sequence and continued together with the new symptoms when they started. They all were present by the end when I realized the drug was the cause and had to quit.

4) I quit just over 6 months ago, and all sides are still present in various degrees. I have brief periods of improvement followed by relapse. I don't know if they'll ever "go away".

5) My hair has thinned noticably in the front, vertex and crown. I couldn't really see any scalp looking in the mirror under the bathroom light 6 months ago, but I sure can now.

I've been lasering since a few days after I quit with a lasermax 90 for 3 weeks, then a home made lasermessiah with 250 diodes for a month, then added 60 more diodes to it a month after that making 310. I'm still shedding. I'd like to say I was able to beat it and move on, but the end isn't in sight for me yet.

Ok guys, I want to know about people that have been on Propecia, stopped due to sides and quit what was the outcome.

Please Post:

1. How long you were on Propecia? 3.5 years and still on it

2. Did it maintain or grow or shed? Deffently stabalized my hairloss and grew back maybe 20% of thickness. (not much where receded tho.

3. What sides did you have? I get soor testicles unless i masturbate. (twice a day and they dont seem to hurt as much). Difficulty maintaining erections. I use to see girls and be like fuuuuuck, get really excited but now its like i dont care so much. Sounds wierd but i just dont feel as manly anymore. 100% straight but i just dont get that sexual drive anymore its fucked up.

4. Once quit how long did it take sides to go away? I plan on eazing off it over the next 9 months as ive been on 500 diode laser helmet now for 3 months.

5. How much did you hair change once quitting? Im hoping as after a year the lasers would have changed the condition of my scalp that i wont get shedding.

MY OVERALL REVIEW OF PROPECIA -

If i could start again i would have never have touched it. Its fucked up my sex life. I generally feel that im losing my manlyness a little bit each day. I wish i could drop it now but i figured its allready been 3.5 years so im gonna slowly get of it rather than jus dropping it as i want hope for my lasers. Im 23 and id suggest for new people to hairloss to NOT go near it. I hear alot that it takes a long time to get back to normal but after a year or so most people start feeling normal again and sides go away. I dont want sympathy as im still in control and handling it ok but it will take a year or 2 before i think my life is back on track 100%

Technology is moving FASTER than ever with information available on the internet to everyone now so stay positive, stay productive. I know sometime in my life i want to go away and work HEAPS to pay off a house and i plan on doing this while im overcoming the drug. So as bad as things get, allways look at the positive side.

My take on the key to happiness is this and i stand by it..... "Always have something to look forward to"

1. How long you were on Propecia? 9 years

2. Did it maintain or grow or shed? maintained and regrew with great results

3. What sides did you have? Not too noticable, probably decreased libido, but only slightly. It's the longer term unknowns that finally scared me away from the drug. I will say though, I quit for a few months at one point due to financial reasons, and when I started up again I felt really f*cked up mentally, I had extreme mood changes for about two months, coupled with frequent panic attacks... all of that was very out of the ordinary for me. Looking back on it, I think I knew it was the drug, but I was in denial because I was scared of losing everything I gained. Well things eventually got better, I think my hormones balanced out again or something.

4. Once quit how long did it take sides to go away? I quit 6 months ago. Like I said, I didn't really have any noticeable sides (other than those couple months after restarting), however, after a month or so of being off I started to notice FAR better erections.

5. How much did you hair change once quitting? Thinned out some in front temples - where I had most of the regrowth as a result of using it. I'm using lasers now and am overall much more knowledgeable so I'm hoping I can fight the battle as long as possible. My main concern now is just being healthy, I think that's the most effective fight against hairloss and it's really all that matters.

Re: Used PROPECIA and then QUIT due to SIDES please POST here

1. How long you were on Propecia?

well ive been on it for about 4 months now, but taking small doses.. i started off the first 3 months with .125 mg a day, and the last month ive been taking .25 mg

2. Did it maintain or grow or shed?

i had about a quarter inch recession in the front which i am getting back, but i am like a norwood 1 - 2 borderline, however my hair's still thinning by the looks of it (probably cause of the small doses, but i am probably not raising the dose anymore from .25)

3. What sides did you have?

none really

4. Once quit how long did it take sides to go away?

n/a

5. How much did you hair change once quitting?

n/a lol

1) Used it for about 2 months a few years back. 2) Not enough time to tell. 3) Severe testicle pain, unable to urinate in a constant 'stream' with 'dribbles' afterwards, loss of libido. 4) Several weeks. 5) None. And I could care less. My dick is worth far more to me than my hair!!!

1. How long you were on Propecia?

Off an on about four times, with the longest period being about a year in about 1997 or 1998, one period being about 7 months in 2001 or 2002, and two periods being about three of four months in 2004 and 2005.

2. Did it maintain or grow or shed?

My hair looked AWFUL during this period. Shed, shed, shed. Total disaster.

3. What sides did you have?

Horrible sexual sides, and I thank whatever girlfriend I had during that one year period for being VERY understanding.

4. Once quit how long did it take sides to go away?

It took maybe anywhere from three to six months each time. ...AND, I got attacked left and right in the late 90's for saying that stuff -in this forum and others! "Propecia does NOT cause those side effects. You must be here to sell snake oil".

5. How much did you hair change once quitting?

I shed less, but I unfortunately kept up the minox for years so it stayed a greasy, crappy mess. I can't believe I wasted so much of my 20's on that bullshit. My hair look HORRIBLE.
