Minoxidil/Rogaine is only a temporary solution if used ALONE - eventually the DHT overwhelms the ability of the minoxidil to keep the hair regenerating. Use it with a DHT blocker such as propecia and as long as the DHT blocker keeps working for you, so will the minox
As for that guy, I always love it when a guy becomes an instant expert because he reads one web page that states something or a wikipedia entry

im kinda in the same boat here. as a joke last christmas, i was given some rogain foam, as a friend of mine had been having a good laugh at my expense (even though the bastard has been an NW3 since 19). i have an unresolved heart issue, and even though my doctor said id be fine (as long as i didnt drink the stuff, and from what ive heard about it, i may as well), im still hesitant to try it out. i swear, the goddamn bottle mocks me. paranoia, or is minox self aware? gonna save for a month or two, and inquire about ordering a messiah 2. im keeping the minox as a last resort. if nothing else, at least ill be able to regift it back to my friend if i manage to grow some laserhair.

I'm into my 4th month of lasers and 2weeks ago i stopped the min......... so far i am not losing any hair from terminating it's use. Now in the past (before my laser helmet) i tried the experiment of stopping and each time i would notice the loss of hair and an increase in shedding. In a couple of weeks i will stop the fin and monitor my scalp and hair using lasers only.

PHDs just mean that you learned what the sponsors of that program wanted you to learn.
LLLT for the scalp = cold lasers, so the idea of scabbing or burns is preposterous. Infrared isn't responsible for tanning in the light spectrum, and ya don't need a PHD to figure that out (quite opposite, apparently if you DO have one then you can't figure it out...).
But seriously, I've been using my helmet for nearly 11 months now and the best results came when I went to full coverage about 7 months ago. Hair has thickened up substantially and some new growth, and now that we've switched to thicker gauge wires the diodes are working at 100% efficiency and hopefully that means even better results in a more timely manner.

Hi everyone, just a quick question regarding the use of Minoxidil. I've been using the Minoxidil 5% solution for the past three months and I am happy to say I have noticed a small improvement in the thickness of my hairline, which is the area I was applying it to. Note that this is only because I've been applying it to my forehead exactly as instructed since beginning the programme - once every morning, and once every evening. But after reading some reviews of this product, it unsettles me to learn that Minoxidil can cause wrinkles on the forehead, and red, bloodshot eyes. I have been experiencing these symptoms in the past month or so, and I am convinced it is due to the Minoxidil - I had a fresh face before and this is no longer so much the case. Because of this, I have decided to stop taking the medication, but I don't want to "shock" my body by ditching the product cold turkey. I want to come off the Minoxidil gradually, over a series of weeks, reducing my use to once every evening, then once every OTHER evening, then twice a week, once a week, then finally cease using it altogether. My hope is that within this period my body will adapt to the change in routine and revert back to its original state. If this results in my hairline returning to its original appearance, this is a sacrifice I am willing to make. I cannot risk having wrinkles at the age of 24. But my question is, how long should I give myself to fully wean myself off the treatment, and is there a risk that, however slowly I might do so, my hairline will actually recede FURTHER back than was previously the case?
Many thanks for any help, any advice would be very much appreciated. I have no other option but to appeal to you for advice! :s

Minoxidil is a joke. This product is the easiest and most available hairloss product to buy off the shelf and it blows ass. I'm sure millions would agree with me.

seh6183 said: I'm 25 and in the last year my hair has started receeding back right in the front and I am desparate to do something about it. I have considered Propecia but my doctor swiftly knocked that idea out of my head by going over the side effects (some he says are permanent). So I'm back at the Minoxidil 5% that has been sitting on my bathroom counter for 4 months. I just can't bring myself to use it when I know it's only a temporary fix. From what I have read on here the minox will work for only a few years and then it will stop having positive effect. I just dont want to go through the whole process of shedding and the ritual of using the stuff everyday when I know that it is only a bandaid to a real problem. Point me in the right direction guys!! the best solution for your minox permanent side effect is using the laser hair treatment. I know you've not used to it but try it. The laser treatment will improve the blood circulation in the scalp and promote hair regrowth. Leimo wet products such as their shampoo and conditioner will only prevent hair loss. But if you are willing to have a new healthy hair in your head, you should also buy personal hair laser comb treatment. The advantage of the hair laser treatment is you own the product. No need to go to any hair clininc.
