Finasteride by itself - forever? Emu oil/caffeine hairs dependent? I have had 4 bottles of Rogaine foam sitting in my house but am not sure if I want to use that topical.. forever.I ordered fincar which made my hair go to crap but am now getting Merck's proscar again.. hoping the recession I've experienced at the temples (Nor 2) will hopefully fill in some... when I went on proscar before my hair regrew a great deal and hair grew in any bare areas. I was curious, should I give proscar 3-6 months before deciding to use minox? Or, should I use emu oil and caffeine... and, when I quit the emu/caffeine.. would the hair growth experienced from that topical be lost?

lets make it clear.emu oil is only good for lubricating assholes of gay men. now lets look at caffine.it blocks androgen receptors(supposedly)so it will prevent loss but will not grow any new hair(at least nothing to speak of)

lets make it clearer than deejac just did...Emu Oil contains two exceptional active ingredients that enable it to be used as an effective topical pharmaceutical. The Linolenic acid inherently contained in the oil provides relief from sore muscles and joint pain while the Oleic acid provides a local anti-inflammatory effect. Emu Oil has been shown to be a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that also thickens dermis and enlarges hair follicles in all known alopecia conditions, including androgenetic. Dr Holick of Boston University, found that it “awakened 80% of dormant hair follicles”. It has also been shown to stimulate melanogenesis providing potential for the treatment of greying hair as well as hair loss. Emu Oil penetrates the skin better than any cosmetic ingredient known to date, and this is due to its non-phosphorous composition. It can be used by itself, or with any topical hair growth or skin moisturizing compounds, enhancing their effectiveness.

I've been applying emu oil on my head before bed time for two years now, and it hasn't awakened any dormant follicles, so far as I can see.

ok lets make it clearer than thinning crown did. if in fact it "awakened 80%(lol)of dormant hair follicles, then we would indeed have the cure for baldness and people like gimme poontang wouldnt have to put it on for 2 years and not grow a single hair. come on!! how the hell can you site a study like that and keep a straight face when just about this whole forum used it and not a single person had a mass awakaning of follicles, let alone a single follicle based on most opinions.

and by the way, transplant doctors look for about 50 percent density to achieve good coverage,so if it grew 80 percent, then it would perform better than a fucking transplant!!

I don't know what to make of emu oil. For the most part I believe it does nothing to regrow hair. At least no more than something like corn oil. Corn oil contains oleic acid, linolenic acid and also linoleic acid. So what's so special about emu oil? "come on!! how the hell can you site a study like that and keep a straight face when just about this whole forum used it and not a single person had a mass awakaning of follicles, let alone a single follicle based on most opinions." Very true and a very good job at shocking many of us back to reality. As far as it's usefulness as a lubricant for gay men, I really can't say. I have no experience in these matters!
