What to buy? proscar, propecia, avodart? http://www.pillsforall.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=10I should reintroduce myself since I havent posted in well over a year. I started to notice a receding hairline at 19. I am now 22, and I still havent doe anything about it. I cant really stand to loose any more hair professionally or personally. If I let it go I wont have much by 30. I need to make a move here and I am finally going to spend the bucks. I would rather start small. I remember that you could use a pill splitter with proscar or propecia? Is there new information otherwise? How trustworthy is pillsforall's generic stuff? I am obviously a bit skeptical since they dont have a even a picture. What one drug would you reccomend? I would like to limit the side effects on testosterone as much as possible. Thanks In Advance.

If you want to limit messing with your hormones then take a different approach because there is no effective dosage of the above medications that is going to leave your hormones alone. Essentially that's their advantage over other treatments. They're supposed to change your hormones. I used propecia...didn't work for me. Now I use avodart and it seems to have stopped my hairloss but I don't want to stay on it for long. My wife and I are talking about having kids and I'm a little worried about that. But if it's safe for prostate patients, I figure I'm safe as well so long as i'm using it at the same dosage. I would suggest you try propecia first though. One pill a day. Give it 3 months. No change, then try 1.5 pills for 3 months. If that doesn't work I would try avodart for 3 months. When you find a dose or medication that works for you, then experiment with cutting back. Some people only need one pill every other day.

That's pretty lame advice. You need to give these treatments more than 3 months before you can determine if they are working, and there is almost no point in raising your dose of fin from 1mg to 1.5mg. You should give fin a MINIMUM of 6-8 months to determine if it's working, but one year would be the best. If after a year, you feel it isn't helping, then perhaps think of switching to Dut.

Member19070-- I recommend to many people that they try Proscar first, since medical plans will usually cover the cost, but at age 22 you are not likely to be suffering from prostatic disease! In your case, I would start with Propecia and then move on to Avodart if Propecia is not effective or if the effectiveness of Propecia begins to wane (this often happens in patients after 3-5 years). pillsforall.com is reall . Theodore : you should check your prolactin and your estradiol levels, if they are high ( may be this is causing your sides effects) you could reduce it
