Effectiveness of Avodart on frontal hair loss

At only age 22, I started to notice some diffused thinning across my front hairline about 6 months ago and I began taking Propecia about 1 1/2 months ago. Obviously, no results yet but I really want to aggressively treat my hair loss so I'm curious about Avodart or any of the generic dutasteride products like Duprost or Dutagen. I also began using Minoxidil and a generic Nizoral shampoo a few days ago and am going to stick with these two products along with either Propecia or Avodart. I'm hoping to see some results by the end of the year. Any info that you guys can share about your experience with Avodart would be great. Thanks for the help.

Also interested in where you guys order dutasteride online. I'm thinking United Pharmacies is pretty reliable.

Anyone?

Hi Twins.  I don't do DUT so I can't help you w/ that - but you might want to consider hanging w/ Propecia on its own for awhile.  If things go well for you on Propecia - it's less expensive in the long run.

If prop doesn't work well enough for you - then you can "bump up" to Dut.

Just a thought.  Otherwise - it sounds as if you've got a handle on it.

That's a good point you make. I certainly can't afford brand name Avodart so I would probably go with Duprost, which is only $100 for 100 pills from United Pharmacies. This generic is manufactured by one of the most established, well-respected generic drug companies in the world. I'm paying about $2/day for brand name Propecia right now so $1/day for Duprost sounds great to me. They also have generic Propecia for about 50 cents/day though. I'd like to hear some feedback about the reliability of United Pharmacies if anyone has ordered from them. Thanks for the help.

Using dutasteride (0.5 mg a day) you should grow about 96 hairs in a one inch diameter of the crown area. On the temple area it takes longer and not as many hairs will grow.

Has anyone experience sides from Dut my dermatologiust says the sides are much more than that with fin, and cautioned me against doing some reading makes me agree, after all it should be noted. MPB us our hairs oversensitivity to DHt, so DHT does have good things about it like eliminating estrogen in the body, eliminating ALL of DHT concerns me....

I've ordered Cipla's version of finasteride for the past few years from http://www.4cnrs-mens-health.com/fincar.html . They've always been reliable, and its about $90/year with them if you cut the 5mg tabs up into fourths.

Also, I was thinking of trying out some dut from United Pharmacies, they seem to have the best price on this product. Does anyone have any insight as to whether Duprost (Cipla) or Dutagen (Ranbaxy) is better?

Be careful. Dutasteride side effects are very frequent and serious. After 72 days on duta and 44 pills (0.5mg) I have no sexual desire!!! I'm 35 years old I had no sexual problem before dutasteride. I tried not to break the treatment reducing the amount of duta taking at the same time other medicine to increase my libido such us L-Arginine, Yohimba, Zinc and Vitamine E with no success. So I interrupt the treatment a week ago. Side effects of duta are very serious. I believe that taking 0.5mg of duta every day is extremely big amount. Remember my words "FDA will approve Duta for hair loss but the daily amount will be at 0.1mg" Good luck...
