From the research and the doctors i have talked to, and I am not a scientist and this is not based on any statistical analysis or scientific studies, rogaine works on about 8% of the people that use it, and the hair that these people grow can be compared to that of peach fuzz. I would not reccomend this product to anyone who is thinking of trying it. It's greasy and a pain in one's life and if it worked then maybe it would be worthwhile, but I think most people in this field and on this website know it does not. I'm just saying this as advise to any who are out there and are thinking about trying this product. It's unfair what the company has done in terms of advertising but my advise to any newcomers is to not even try it. My advise to the people who are using it because they feel it might be halting hair loss or they might be losing less hair if they weren't using it, is also to stop. This is the entire reason the product has made so much money. As I'm sure most all of you know or at least suspect, that they know we wouldn't know if the product has saved us from MORE hair loss. This kind of scare tactic is exactly what has worked all these years. I know from experience that if feels better to think to oneself that at least we are trying something to slow down the hair loss process but this is really not a good reason to use a product that doesn't do anything for more than 90% of the people that use it. Just my opinion and for all the postive, people on here that try to help others....thanks.

Re: the % of people Rogaine works for The only thing you've got right is that Rogaine is greasy. Way too greasy for me. So, I use Minoxidil solutions made by Dr. Lee. They're not at all greasy. Leave your hair super nice. Work great too, particularly if used in conjunction with Finasteride. Didn't grow any peach fuzz either, but nice course hair. Been on treatment for a little more then two years. My hairloss stopped completely and really thickened up throughout, even the frontal areas. Couldn't be more pleased. The main reason I still visit and post on this site is because I'd like to share any info I have with others and let them know they do have a chance. Who are you to advise others to stop treatments just because things did not work for you. Everyone responds differently. Re: the % of people Rogaine works for then you are amoung the 8% that this works for. congrats... it will be worth it for you to put stuff in your hair twice a day for the rest of your life. write back in 6 months and tell us if it's still working. the two year period is said to be for some the end point for minoxidil...let us know it that's true for you...

Re: the % of people Rogaine works for People do respond differently to treatments. I've just tnever heard anyone who said that minoxidil worked for them until now. I stand corrected. I was wondering though, have you been using both the finasteride and the mixoxidil together for two years? How do you know if it's just one of those products that's working? I mean I wouldn't ever try to fix something that's not broken but i am curious....Member14802 said: Member11850 said: The only thing you've got right is that Rogaine is greasy. Way too greasy for me. Re: the % of people Rogaine works for I have no idea what "doctors" you have been talking to but you would be better off finding ones that actually have an M.D. 8% of people using it regrow hair is quite funny, maybe stand up comedy might be in your future. I will give you that the shit is a pain, 2 times a day is even more of a pain. I found that rubbing it in with your finger tips really gets it on your scalp and stops it from running down your head. I use it on the front and mid of my head and can see the new hairs regrowing, it is such a wonderful feeling too. For better results use a DHT blocker with it like Propecia/Proscar or Avodart, Avodart being the newer and better one. Or if you want to stay away from the DHT blockers try taking some L-Lysine 500mg two times a day, or getting a perscription for Retin-A, which is good for the front hairline and helps your scalp absorb the Monoxidil. One last thing dont bother with getting Rogaine anymore, you can now buy it in generic forms for 1/2.5 the cost. I get mine at Sam's 4 month supply for 20 dollars whereas Rogaine is 50. Same stuff, which is Monoxidil, just cheaper.
