i've been using rogaine for about 2 months now. i've seen some results. i'm thinning all over the top part of my head and so i apply it all over the top, not just the back where they say. the thing is, rogaine works anywhere on the top of the head. my question is, now that i use it all over the top of my head, i have to up the dosage from 5ml to about 15ml. is this going to harm me in anyway and also if i apply a thin amount, will it have the same effectiveness? i'm just wondering if as long as there's a thin coating of rogaine, will it work as good as a thick coating? thanks.

Yikes! Doesn't it say in the instructions on the bottle that 5ml is the max? And that using more than that won't help.  Using 3 times the recommended dosage may not be a good thing. Try just putting the 5ml---just dot it around with the eyedropper, then use your fingers, all of 'em, to spread it around.all over the crown, the hair line, etc..  Wherever it's thin. And do it gently. Not like you're scrubbing a pot!

Re: question about rogaine!!

Hey stud, it's me again! Hoping maybe you made a typo and meet 1.5ml instead of 15ml. Not into Rogaine, too greasy for me. Dr. Lee's solutions are far better. Anyway, as I recall Rogaine comes in a 60ml bottle, so 15ml would be 1/4 bottle per application. Have a hard time believing you're using that much! Dr. Lee recommends 1ml per application. If applied correctly it's enough to cover the entire top of your head, no problem. Not necessary to cover every liitle area, as the Minoxidil speads out upon absorbtion through your skin. Here's another tip. Get yourself a "Hair Pick", the plastic kind that's about 2" wide with rounded ends. Apply Minoxidil and then give it a light rub in with the pick. This method works much better then using your fingers and also helps to keep the stuff out of your hair. Lastly, suggest you check out Dr. Lee's site [www.minoxidil.com], even if you're not into his products, the site contains a wealth of info.

Re: question about rogaine!!

Here's another tip for you stud. Apply Minoxidil, at least your AM dose, to towel dried scapl with your hair wet [after a shower and shampoo is perfect]. Before starting your application, take that new hair pick, part your hair on either side, then comb the top straight up. Hold it up with one hand and apply the Minoxidil, dropper style, with the other and keep that dropper right next to your scalp at all times. Now take that pick and give things a rub. Use this method and you'll accomplish two things: 1. Keep that stuff out of your hair, so you'll end up with a better DO, 2. Increase the absorbtion, because all drugs are absorbted better when the skin is hydrated
